His Life
He was interested in every aspect of farming, history, nature, and machinery. Civic-minded, hard working – and a true networker – he was tirelessly dedicated to the community. He had an enormous memory, was a man of many details and a great storyteller. Whether he was attending a farm auction, town board meeting, or shopping for groceries, he would often run into an old friend or neighbor, which would result in a lengthy discussion. He drove the back roads rather than major highways in order to keep up with folks and what they were doing, the development of land, and to satisfy his own endless curiosity.
