Dad was direct and told it like it was; he did not care to be politically correct nor did he care for those who are.  He was mischievous, humorous and mocked people to their face; we came to recognize this as a sign of affection.  An opinionated man, he reminded us of Archie Bunker – he seemed bigoted on the outside, but as we got to know him, we realized that this crab had a soft underbelly.
